  Dr. Qiaomei Liang received her PhD degree in Management Science and Engineering from Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2007. Then she was a research associate in Institute of Policy and Management, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Currently, she is a professor and doctoral supervisor in School of Management and Economics, Beijing Institute of Technology. She is also the director in the research office of climate economics and policies in Center for Energy & Environmental Policy Research, BIT. She was awarded by Excellent Young Scientist Foundation of National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) in 2014. Besides, she was also selected for the "Program for New Century Excellent Talents in University" by the Ministry of Education (MOE), and the program of "Beijing-funded Plan for Talents".

  She has been long engaged in the study and research of management science. Her main research interest is Energy Economic Complex System Modeling and Energy & Environmental Policy. She has undertaken more than 20 projects which are supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), National Science-technology Support Plan, European Union FP7 and so on. Some policy consulting reports she submitted were commented by the General Leaders such as the Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister, and accepted by the General Office of CPC Central Committee or State Council. She has published more than 30 academic papers, 18 of which in SCI/SSCI indexed journals. And she has written 6 English and Chinese books in collaboration with others. The published English papers were cumulatively cited more than 500 times (Google Scholar), with 213 times by SCI/SSCI ones (ISI) and the highest SCI/SSCI cited times in a single first-author paper being 85. She was awarded the Elsevier Economics Journals Most Cited Articles By Chinese Mainland Authors 2004-2008, and related works have become the top 25 hottest articles of Journal of Policy Modeling for two and a half consecutive years. In addition, two of her papers are cited by the IPCC Fifth Assessment Report and one paper is collected in ESI. And parts of her research works are reported by Reuters and other mainstream media. She has received academic honors including Nomination Award of National Excellent Doctorate Dissertation of China, Award of Beijing Excellent Doctorate Dissertation, President’s Scholarship (Award of Merit) of Chinese Academy of Sciences, the first prize of science and technology progress awarded by MOE.
